RUT419 So what are your thoughts on Nick Toon. Loved his father and it seems like he is a high character guy. Ready to work hard. 6'2". I thin he could be a great compliment to Marshall and he's valued as a 4th rounder. I like how deep the WR's are this year. I don't think we need to stretch for one.
04/17/2012 - 12:29pm Respond Show all 7 comments I like him but it would take a couple of years for him to develop. He does have great potential though. I would rather get someone in the second round like Reuben Randle from LSU or Alshon Jeffery. I heard AJ Jenkins is rising in the draft boards. He could also be an option. 04/17/2012 - 5:23pm If Nick Toon is now a projected 4th round, then his stock has fallen dramatically because I remember seeing mock drafts with the Bears picking him in the 2nd round. 04/17/2012 - 6:15pm I saw the 4th round thing on the college scout site. I guess he's rising then. 04/18/2012 - 6:53am I am leery of the guys like Jeffrey and Randle and even Hill. They could be another Darius Heyward Bey. It's always those "other" guys that end up with longevity. Unless we're talking Kendall Wright. All these guys that have major fanfair for the most part usually don't deliver. 04/18/2012 - 6:58am Those type of players are projects with the exception of Jeffrey. He had no QB last year and was overweight so his stats were down and his tape suffered as well. The year before, he outpaced A.J Green and Julio Jones as far as yards, Rec etc. If he comes to the Bears he wont have to carry the load like he did in college, he reminds me of Brandon Marshall without the crazy YAC. They were both suspect coming out of college, botch are freaks of nature, both can go up and get it, and are just fast enough to create some seperation. 04/18/2012 - 10:10am As far as Toon he is definitely someone the Bears should target in the later rounds, the highest he should be drafted is 3. But anyway I think the Bears should draft a DT first round because the value of that pick is tremendous, i think Brockers will be there. 2nd round go after Vinny Curry, third round best player available, 4th round a WR, 5, 6 , 7 Best player available (im thinking OLine). That will give the Bears a DT to develop, A DE that rushes the passer, and a capable WR for the future. These picks arent plug them in and play but i think in the long run gives the Bears good value. 04/18/2012 - 10:14am If we got Toon in the 4th, I would be thrilled, but I doubt he will be there when we pick in the 4th. He has made some great blocks during his career, as a bonus I know Roy will appreciate. 04/19/2012 - 7:03pm |

RUT419 What about Eric Winston from Houston. He was a cap casualty like Williams. If we grabbed him, put him at right tackle, moved Carimi to left tackle, let Spencer move to Center and Garza and Louis at guard. They would all be at their natural positions. Still piching myself after the Marshall trade.

RUT419 Hey Roy! It's great to see you back man. You are the homer free source for our Bears for sure. At least most of the time. Just check the tape. =)

RUT419 Did you here Chargers waiving LT Marcus McNeill? Does anyone think this could be a good pickup. He is from Chicago.

02/08/2012 - 5:40pm Respond Far too big of a cap hit, which is exactly why he may be cut by the Chargers. Plus, I'd rather only deal with Brigg's threats to hold-out than him and McNeill. IMO, he's not with the money he'd demand (not even close to being among the best according to PFF and what he is being payed in comparison) or the headache. 02/08/2012 - 7:22pm That's what I figured 02/09/2012 - 6:38am |

08/05/2011 - 10:08am Respond I actually think they're happy with the staff, but if they have continued progressive success, like say a Super Bowl victory, then it won't be long before other teams try to lure the coaches away. If Bears are smart they will pay to keep them though imho. 08/06/2011 - 7:30am |
