Jlewis Olson chose Blaine Gabbert and the Jaguars over Jay Cutler and the Bears, largely because the Jaguars gave him the assistant head coach title and a longer contract. After failing to land Olson, Falcons OC Dirk Koetter, and Titans QBs coach Dowell Loggains, the Bears will turn to Plan D next week

Jlewis The Bears reportedly offered Greg Olson the position of passing game coordinator/QBs coach, only to be turned down.

01/27/2012 - 9:53am Respond Has Jimmy Mac blown his cash yet? How cool would it be to have him coach Cutty up? 01/30/2012 - 5:31am |

Jlewis McGinn has sources throughout the NFL, and his report aligns with a recent Chicago Sun Times story claiming Emery is "in the driver's seat" to replace Jerry Angelo. The Bears interviewed five men for their GM vacancy. Emery was fifth in line, appears to have risen to the top of Chicago's short list.

Jlewis Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that the Bears are "on the verge" of hiring Chiefs college scouting director Phil Emery to be their next general manager.

Jlewis Giants college scouting director Marc Ross formally interviewed for the Bears' GM vacancy on Wednesday. Ross' background with finding big-time receivers from the first round to the middle rounds to the undrafted ranks should be appealing in Chicago.

Jlewis Former Seahawks OC Jeremy Bates has reportedly been eliminated from the Bears' search for a passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach. Bates apparently "rubbed the Bears the wrong way" in choosing to join Pete Carroll's staff over Lovie Smith's before the 2010 season.
01/13/2012 - 7:54am Respond That seems petty of the bear's staff. Why should they be surprised anyone with an ounce of talent decides to go elsewhere where they'll be respected as more than a 'yes man'? 01/13/2012 - 4:32pm |

Jlewis Coordinator Mike Martz has resigned over "philosophical differences" with the Bears. Tice will be the favorite to replace Martz as offensive boss. Per ESPN Chicago, QBs coach Shane Day is also out after failing to develop Caleb Hanie.
01/03/2012 - 1:22pm Respond Show all 4 comments I didnt read this where at? 01/03/2012 - 1:27pm Chicago Tribune reports that quarterbacks coach Shane Day is out as well. 01/03/2012 - 1:38pm I saw it on Twitter. The good thing is that we will run a more traditional style, some formations were wack. Im upset that they have to learn a new offense again. 01/03/2012 - 1:50pm If Tice does get promoted, then it will be a lot smoother. It will also be more favorable to getting back to a power-run lead offense which will give Cutler his time to readjust and stay upright. 01/03/2012 - 3:41pm |

Jlewis The Bears announced on their website Tuesday that Lovie Smith will remain as head coach in 2012.
Despite firing GM Jerry Angelo Tuesday morning, the McCaskeys apparently have no plans to sack Smith or his coaching staff.
01/03/2012 - 10:28am Respond Good, Lovie has done a good job over the years. I hope he stays around for as long as possible. 01/03/2012 - 5:48pm |

01/03/2012 - 9:33am Respond Show all 6 comments Lovie is not the problem dude 01/03/2012 - 9:37am I'm with you, Lovie isn't the problem. Sometimes Head Coaches are tied to the GM's that hire them. You never know what could happen. 01/03/2012 - 9:42am Lovie is a good weekly coach...his game day coaching is very questionable and far from impressive. Especially how much we have lost to GB and making decisions like playing Bowmen over Jennings in GB when we know what Bowmen is, SHIT. that was proved with Rodgers picking on him all game....idk if i would really mind him getting fired. I am sick of hearing we are close to GB when we are not... 01/03/2012 - 10:03am Yeah i agree with both of you guys. But the Bears dont seem to mind his style and with a lockeroom full of vets i dont think they need a all in your face coach like Schwartz. Lovie reminds me of Andy Reid, calm but isnt scared to bench anyone. 01/03/2012 - 11:24am I want Lovie to stay. There is not another person alive that can get our core group of players to work as hard as they do. I say let him work out his contract through 2013 and see if he can get us back to the SB. 01/03/2012 - 3:36pm I agree with Werner, Lovie is really underrated. The players absolutely love the guy, and frankly, aside from challenging plays, I think he is one of the best head coaches at every other aspect. 01/03/2012 - 3:47pm |

11/23/2011 - 3:36pm Respond Lets hope he never sees the field. 11/23/2011 - 4:29pm agreed he's a scrub rather see what Hanie could do 11/24/2011 - 12:29pm |
